Why is therapy beneficial?

It can be hard to see yourself objectively and maintain a hopeful state when there are pitfalls along the way towards solving complex problems. It can be so easy to get stuck in notions of “good,” “bad,” and thoughts/feelings “I am always going to feel this way” or  “I give up, I can’t change this.” Therapy can help a person get unstuck. It can provide the motivation and encouragement to keep working towards your goals when you question “How do I keep going on when I don’t have the life that I want?” Therapy can help a person differentiate feelings from facts; which then allow for well-rounded assessments of the situation. Being able to take this step back all greatly impacts how you address your problem.

Therapy can also be seen as tool to cultivate greater self-awareness. It can help you become more intentional in your everyday life, help you decrease mental, emotional, and physical reactivity, and allow you to notice patterned behavior that no longer serves you. It can allow you to live with  more authenticity-awakening parts of you that have been long forgotten or unfostered.

In my experience, it appears that when people start really looking at themselves, they feel more effective in their lives, experience increased freedom, feel less judgmental towards self/others, and have a greater ability to access the life they want.

A therapist is a guide-a person who is committed to personal growth and
authenticity; as well as a highly trained professional who understands mental health
issues/disorders. I love being a therapist and I would be honored to join you on your journey towards health and actualization.
